NORTH AMERICA SUPPORT

Abhay Sawant (Houston, TX): Abhay is a Lead Technical Account Manager with 16+ years of experience in process modeling, simulation and design, advanced process control and optimization. His experience includes projects in on-line optimization for gas processing, crude, fluidized catalytic cracking (FCC) and reforming units. Abhay is an active member of AIChE.

Bryan McAlister, PhD (Houston, TX): Bryan brings 12+ years of experience to Invensys where he is a Lead Technical Account Manager. Prior to Invensys, Bryan worked for DuPont Dow Elastomers where he ran a 24/7 catalysis research pilot plant, assisted with production plant start-ups and headed up gas phase polymerization research projects. Bryan has also been involved with several process research and product research projects throughout his career.

Greg Katnich (Houston, TX): Greg is the Technical Support Manager for North America with 17+ years of experience in engineering, training, design and technical support. His experience includes 12 years at SimSci-Esscor in pre-sales and technical support, as well as work at Fluor Daniel handling the design, revamping and upgrade of refineries, pipelines, gas plants and petrochemical facilities, and work at M.W. Kellogg as a systems engineer designing a petrochemical facility.

Janet Parker (Carlsbad, CA): Janet is a Principal Application Engineer with 15 years of experience in process simulation. Her current role includes simulation software development, marketing, training, and support for the Control Emulations product lines such as FSIM Plus, TRISIM Plus, and ABSIM. In addition to customer support and training for these products, she provides support for dynamic modeling techniques in the Power, Chemical Oil and Gas, and Pulp and Paper industries. Prior to focusing on product support, Janet worked as a project engineer in process design, dynamic simulation studies, operator training simulators, and optimization. Before joining Invensys in 1996, Janet was employed as an analyst in the nuclear and fossil fuel industries and as a developer of interactive multimedia training software for the automotive industry.

John Cunningham (Bountiful, UT): John is a Principal Technical Support Specialist with 35+ years experience in process simulation, thermodynamics and physical properties. His experience includes 20+ years as SimSci developer, responsible for the physical properties and thermodynamic methods. He has been active in AIChE’s DIPPR, (Design Institute for Physical Properties) having served the Chair for the phase equilibrium Project 805 for 15 years. Prior to joining Invensys, he was a research faculty member at Brigham Young University, and Director of Research at Wiltec Research in Provo, UT. John has over 40 publications and presentations at national meetings.

Larry Balcom (Boothwyn, PA): Larry is a Lead Technical Account Manager with 25+ years of experience in manufacturing support, control system design and integration, technology development, reactor design, and pilot plant development for the chemicals industries. His experience with DuPont, includes development and deployment of standardized DCS interfaces for PM&C, ERP, and process simulation systems; DCS configuration and installation; and the development of custom software engineering tools. Larry is an active member of ISA, and a life member of the Phi Kappa Phi engineering honor society.

Mike Donahue (Lake Forest, CA): Mike is a Lead Technical Account Manager with 12+ years of experience in technology development, control system design and integration, reactor design, process simulation, and pilot plant development for the petrochemical, refining, and power generation industries. His experience includes work at Harvest Energy Technology performing design-to-production activities of an advanced fuel processing and hydrogen generation group. Mike's work in this area has lead to two patent pending applications and two US patents. Other works include process simulation activities at Martech International. Mike is an active member of AIChE, ISA, and ASME.

Richard Pelletier (Wilmington, DE): Richard is a Technical Support Specialist with experience working in process simulation. He received his BS in Chemical Engineering from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ. While at Rowan, he specialized in a Biochemical Engineering concentration, and worked extensively on projects concerning ethanol production through microbial fermentation of corn stover using mutant strains of E. coli. Richard is an active member of AICHE and ASM.

Ted McKeehan (Houston, TX): Ted is a Lead Technical Account Manager with 30+ years of experience in the oil and gas industries. His experience includes process engineering projects for Saudi Aramco conducting a grass-roots gas-compression plant project, a 20-year development plan for the world’s largest offshore oil field, and supervising a team at Fluor/Houston & Fluor Ocean Services/Houston. Other experience includes Davy PowerGas assistingon an FCC revamp, a grass-roots syn-gas plant that involved partial oxidation, rectisol acid gas removal and cryogenic storage & pumping. Ted is an active member of AIChE.

Fernanda Martins (Brazil): Fernanda is the technical support engineer for SimSci-Esscor products in Brazil. She has 5 years of experience in process engineering and 3 years in process simulation. She hasworked on projects such as a Delayed Coke Unit for Petrobras (REDUC), FCC unit for Petrobras (REDUC), Bauxite refinery for Alcoa (Alumar), and anOffshore Platform (Manati).

Eivarth Caballero (Colombia): Eivarth is a Chemical Process Engineer with 7+ years ofexperience working in the Environmental and Oil & Gas Industry doing Crude Refining, Upstream and Process Engineering projects. His experience includes work for Ecopetrol GCB Refinery, Wood Group Columbia, and for Ecopetrol ICP (Petroleum Research Institute). Eivarth holds a B.Sc. Ch. Eng. degree from Universidad Industrial de Santander-UIS, specializing in Gas Engineering. His areas of experience include process distillation, combustion, advanced process control, OTS, upstream facilities, gas treatment and compression, process modeling/simulations, technical consulting, engineering design and plant troubleshooting.

Marina Fusari (Argentina): Chemical Engineering. Two years of experience in minerals processing and two years of experience in Reservoir Simulation (Developing of simulators utilizing Fortran and usage of a commercial simulator of public domain (BOAST). She teaches Thermodynamics at the University of Buenos Aires.

Ade Salami (Stockport, UK): Ade is a Technical Support Engineer with 6 years of experience in process simulation, training course development/delivery, front-end design engineering and commissioning. Her experience includes work in product/process development for ICI Paints doing pilot plant product testing and development to plant scale-up studies and pump evaluations. Other projects include a quality management system, validating and commissioning of pigging systems/ mixing vessels, and pilot plant studies of liquid/emulsion mixing processes to plant scale-up.

David Earp (Stockport, UK): David is a Sr. Technical Consultant with 13 years of experience in process simulation, training course development/delivery, wet air oxidation, biomass gasification/pyrolysis and spent fuel reprocessing for the nuclear industry. His experience includes work at BNFL doing plant design and operation and dynamic modeling of process plants; and projects with Royal Ordnance/ARRL as a research engineer doing dynamic modeling (ACSL) of a robot arm.

Gareth Davis (Stockport, UK): Gareth is a Technical Support Engineer with 6+ years of experience in process simulation, training course development and delivery, front-end and detailed engineering, and safety and risk assessment. His experience includes projects with Jacobs Engineering and Fluor Daniel as a senior process engineer in pulp & paper and chemicals & pharmaceuticals covering process design, safety and risk assessment, and project engineering. He also has experience at KBC Process Technology as a software support engineer doing development and installation of monitoring applications for refinery unit operations.

Neil Forster (Stockport, UK): Neil is the EMEA Technical Support Manager with 15+ years of experience in chemical engineering, process simulation, simulation training course development/delivery, front-end design/engineering, and safety and risk assessment. His experience includes work at W.S. Atkins performing safety case and risk assessment studies, including a study for Associated Octel on effluent treatment. Other works include the Ethylene Project in Korea and the Ammonia/Urea Complex in Iraq for M.W. Kellogg.
